Lone Star College-University Park Welcomes Harris County Public Health Expert for ReadUP! Series on Hurricane Preparedness
As residents near the Gulf Coast prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) is hosting an important session in its ReadUP! series on hurricane preparedness. The March 5, 2024, event features Halley Goldstein from the Harris County Public Health Department. The session will take place in the Student Learning Resource Center (SLRC) Teaching Gallery, building 12, 8th floor, from 2-3 p.m.

Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) welcomes author Kimberly Garza for a special author visit and book signing event as part of its ReadUP! program. The event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. in West Dining at LSC-University Park, 20515 TX-249, Houston, TX 77070.

College President
Dr. Virginia M. Fraire assumed her role as the second president of Lone Star College-University Park on October 1, 2023. With nearly 30 years of experience in higher education, she is a distinguished administrator committed to eliminating educational barriers. Prior to joining Lone Star College-University Park, Dr. Fraire served as vice provost for student success and strategic initiatives at the University of Texas at El Paso and held various leadership roles during a two-decade tenure at Austin Community College.
