LSC-Montgomery Visual & Performing Arts

Lone Star College-Montgomery offers a wide range of visual and performing arts programming for our students and the surrounding community. The Theatre Department’s season includes a diverse array of Mainstage and Black Box Theater productions such as classic, family fare, musical theatre and devised shows. Come hear performances by the Music Department’s choirs, bands, and orchestra, as well as weekly afternoon recitals by music students and visiting artists. Each spring, we host a dance showcase featuring performances by students in our Dance Department. And in December, join us for our Holiday Benefit Concert bringing together all the performing arts. The Mary-Matteson Parrish Art Gallery hosts monthly exhibitions from a variety of national and international artists with associated receptions where the public and students can meet and ask questions of the artists. The Art Department also puts on a series of lectures and workshops from professionals in the visual arts, curatorial fields, and the humanities.

The benefits of learning and experiencing dance extend beyond the technical development of physical skill. Dance enriches, enhances and enlightens. It can foster discipline and instill confidence with a sense of accomplishment.

Live entertainment technicians enhance live performances by affecting the audience's senses - using audio, video and lighting technologies appropriate to the production and its environment. LSC-Montgomery is the only school in Texas to offer an associate degree in live entertainment technology.

You're invited to take a seat and support Lone Star College performing arts with the Best Seat in the House naming opportunity.
