Volunteers can earn a Habitat for Humanity Volunteers t-shirt upon attaining 10 hours of build time as long as supplies last. The t-shirts come in an assortment of colors. At times throughout the year, we request volunteers wear their HFH t-shirts to participate in various college events.

Habitat for Humanity Volunteers is an organization based upon volunteering our time to community service. Our mission is to partner with HFH affiliates and other organizations in the community to help build or repair homes for people in need. The hours each student-volunteer donates at build sites is recorded by the Habitat for Humanity affiliate and by LSC-Montgomery Habitat for Humanity Volunteers. These volunteer hours can be applied as volunteer hour credits to LSC-Montgomery scholarships, the Honors Program, and other other areas which would require a certain number of qualfied volunteer hours to achieve a specific status or goal.

What is Habitat for Humanity International?

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

The mission of Habitat for Humanity (HFH) affiliates is to build homes for people in need of a hand up, not a hand out. HFH home owners are required to put in a certain number of build time hours on other HFH homes before construction can begin on their own home. In addition, the home owners are prequalified to make a monthly note on thier home.

Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Thank you for your interest in Lone Star College-Montgomery Habitat for Humanity Volunteers.
