Proof of High School Completion

Lone Star College requires proof of high school completion to be submitted prior to the end of your admit term.

Note: F-1 visa students are required to submit proof of high school completion or its equivalent and/or college-level work at the time of admission. Students can provide one of the following to satisfy this requirement when seeking admission to LSC:

  • Foreign high school completion documents if in English OR
  • College-level work if in English; OR
  • Foreign high school completion documents in a foreign language AND a certified English translation
  • Documentation showing completion of college-level work in a foreign language AND a certified English translation.

F-1 visa students should submit all the admission documents to their campus International Student Advisors (ISA).

Once accepted, all students who have international coursework, including F-1 students will need an official third-party evaluation if their transcripts originate outside the U.S. This requirement needs to be met before the end of your admit term. Students can satisfy this requirement using any one of the processes below:

A) Proof of High School Completion Using High School documents: All high school transcripts from institutions not located in the U.S., must be submitted for evaluation to any member organizations of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credit Evaluators (AICE).

LSC recommends a document-by-document evaluation showing equivalency in terms of U.S. education including a GPA conversion. We suggest the evaluator attach the evaluated document to the official evaluation.

Students who have graduated from a U.S. Department of State-assisted high school are exempt from the professional evaluation requirement. These students are required to submit an official high school completion document prior to the end of their admit term. Instructions on how to submit an official transcript are noted below.

B) Proof of High School Completion using College-level work: Applicants who listed previous college attendance in the New Student Online Application will be required to submit official transcripts from all institutions prior to the end of their admit term.

Students can satisfy this requirement by submitting:

  • Professional Evaluation of Foreign College transcripts: Transcripts be submitted for evaluation to any member organizations of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credit Evaluators (AICE). The evaluation must verify U.S. undergraduate coursework equivalency. If using college credential to satisfy high school completion requirement, the evaluation should show a successful completion of at least one course. The credential should list the degree that was pursued and/or completion of a degree.

  • Proof of college-level course work in the U.S: Students can submit an official transcript from an accredited U.S. institution to satisfy this requirement.  If using college credential to satisfy high school completion requirement the credential should show a successful completion of at least one course. The credential should list the degree that was pursued and/or completion of a degree.
    Note: English Language Classes/ESOL level coursework cannot be used to satisfy this requirement. Students who have only completed ESOL classes will be required to submit ESOL transcripts as well as any of the other above-mentioned documents to satisfy high school completion requirements.

Students Seeking to Transfer College/University Credits from outside of the U.S.

Students who have college/university credits outside the U.S. and wish to transfer their credits to LSC must submit a course-by-course evaluation by one of the following organizations:

How do I submit official transcripts/evaluation?

For a transcript/credential evaluation to be considered official, it must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be mailed from issuing institution or evaluation agency directly to Lone Star College at
                 Lone Star College Student Records
                 20515 SH 249 - UP1104
                 Houston, Texas 77070
  • Brought in person, in a sealed envelope to any campus Admissions Office OR
  • Emailed from issuing institution directly to Registrar@lonestar.edu

Students must submit these documents prior to the end of their admit term.

Note:  LSC does not allow use of any credential issued by institutions listed under Fraudulent or Substandard Institutions on The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board website.

Evaluations/transcripts submitted to LSC to satisfy the high school completion/college-level work requirement are for LSC admissions purposes only. LSC cannot be responsible if transfer universities have different or additional requirements.

Once an evaluation is submitted to LSC, it becomes LSC property and will not be released to the student or any other institution.
