New Series Begins with Bay Area Scientists Talk

Spaceflight and international research exploration are the topics of two Science Speaker Series talks set this October at Lone Star College-CyFair.

The series kicks off at 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3 with Sara Zwart, NASA Senior Scientist and Deputy Manager Nutritional Biochemistry. Her topic will be “Spaceflight: Its Effect on Human Physiology and Nutrition.”

The next talk titled “International Research Explorations” is set from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and features two speakers.  Denis Costello is a chemistry teacher at Cypress Lakes High School and researcher of ocean acidification. Kevin Conway is a Texas A&M Assistant Professor and Curator of Fishes, Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections.

The LSC-CyFair Science Department and the Science and Engineering Club are co-sponsoring this speaker series, which will be held in Center for Academic and Student Affairs (CASA) building, room 110, at 9191 Barker Cypress.
