Our ESOL students come from over 40 countries. Despite their different cultural and language backgrounds, they are all here in the Program to improve their English and achieve their personal and professional goals. Some of our students are immigrants who have made the United States their home; others are international students who are in the United States to pursue an academic degree. The program also caters to professionals and their families who are her in the United States temporarily for work.
Our students represent over 40 countries from different parts of the world, including Mexico, Colombia, China, Germany, Denmark, Venezuela, Brazil, Korea, Iran, Pakistan, and Japan.
The ESOL Program sponsors a variety of intercultural activities to promote diversity and multicultural understanding, and to create a community for its students.
Intercultural Student Organization (ISO)
The ISO promotes diversity and multicultural understanding both on campus and in the community. Membership in this organization is open to all students.
In November of each year, LSC-Kingwood observes this week to celebrate the diverse cultures of its students and to promote international education. ESOL students are actively involved in the planning and implementation of the activities of this week.
