SBDC "Powers Up" Web Site for Small Businesses

Article Body
Business owners and entrepreneurs can find a virtual “owner’s manual” of helpful information online at www.northhoustonbusiness.com.  That’s the internet address of the Small Business Development Center at Lone Star College System. SBDC officials have improved the old website with new information especially designed to help small business owners and entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The Lone Star College System SBDC is part of a regional SBDC network anchored by the University of Houston SBDC. Since 1986, the Lone Star College System branch has counseled more than 6,000 clients, held more than 650 training programs, and helped to create hundreds of new jobs. Lone Star College System SBDC Director Sal Mira and his staff of experienced consultants provide daily face-to-face advice and “mentoring” for clients throughout the college district. SBDC consultants keep office hours at each of the Lone Star College System colleges.  The updated website provides a wealth of information, Mira said. On the site is information about how to start and grow a small business, qualify for appropriate financing, increase sales, reduce costs, and much more. A complete listing of free and low-cost training seminars is also available, and registration can be made online. A full list of locations and services is available at www.northhoustonbusiness.com.###
