How often is your SAP evaluated?

Your progress will be checked at the end of each Spring semester. If you do not meet the minimum standards you will be placed on a probation or suspension status.

If you are applying for a student loan you will have your progress checked at the beginning and end of each semester. If you do not meet the minimum standards you will be placed on a probation or suspension status.

If you are placed on a probation status you are subject to have your standards checked at the end of each semester.

What happens if you are placed on a probation or suspension status?

Probation students are still eligible to apply for financial aid but must attend a SAP workshop. As soon as you are found to be on probation you must attend a workshop within that same semester. You cannot receive additional aid until you have attended the workshop. If you fail to attend the workshop you will be placed on suspension and any additional aid will be cut off.

Suspension students are ineligible to apply for or receive financial aid. If you are placed on suspension you have the right to submit an appeal which is reviewed by the financial aid office. You must indicate what unusual circumstances kept you from maintaining progress and attach supporting documentation. You must also attach your current degree plan and show you can complete your program of study before reaching your maximum time frame. Click here to obtain your degree plan.  Please attach an appeal form, to the front of your letter. Follow the steps outlined in the appeal form.
