Readers Theater
Lone Star College-CyFair Reader's Theatre puts on four staged readings a year casting faculty and staff in plays on themes that relate to any number of broader humanities topics. By using staged readings instead of memorized lines, faculty and staff are able to participate within their busy schedules. Participants can focus on creating characters through tone and pace, rather than action. The audience is able to appreciate the language of drama and engage with the words beyond the page. Over the past 5 years, Reader's Theatre has covered a vast array of classical and contemporary plays, ranging from the comical to the dramatic. Our goal is to continue the tradition as well as expanding the readings to include staged readings of other literature, such as short stories and radio dramas.
