The Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations will honor Penny Westerfeld, Lone Star College-University Center director, as one of its Women of Distinction on April 14.
Westerfeld has worked for Lone Star College System for 29 years serving as a professor, associate dean, dean and vice president. She has participated in both Leadership North Houston and Leadership Montgomery County and currently serves as an ex-officio member on the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce board.
The annual Woman of Distinction Luncheon will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and will include a silent auction in addition to an awards program. The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Dancing with the Stars.”
"After a career of 'dancing with the stars' of the Lone Star College System, I am thrilled and honored to be selected by MCWCO and the American Association of Women in Community Colleges for this tribute,” said Westerfeld.
“To me, this honor represents the many wonderful people who partner with students to dance towards that bright future,” said Westerfeld.
Lone Star College System consists of five colleges, including CyFair, Kingwood, Montgomery, North Harris, and Tomball, six centers and Lone Star College-University Center.
