Courses may be used as fine arts or kinesiology credit towards the Associate of Arts degree or as transfer credits to four-year degree programs.
The dance department presents a dance concert at the end of each semester. The concert's diverse program includes works choreographed by LSC-Kingwood faculty and students, as well as guest artists, representing many dance styles.
The LSC-Kingwood Dance Ensemble is open to all students currently or previously enrolled in dance courses on campus. The ensemble meets to create and rehearse student works with the goal of presenting them in the semester concert. The ensemble also seeks to participate in community outreach projects involving dance.
The faculty of the dance department is comprised of instructors who have strong backgrounds in teaching, choreographing and performing dance. They are dedicated to helping students achieve success by offering rich and varied experiences in addition to the regular course work. Students have had the opportunity to participate in the Humble Fine Arts Festival, to take master classes, to collaborate with art and lighting students, and to perform and teach locally.
