In the Area

The Lone Star College-Kingwood Public Achievement program is a partnership with Splendora Early College High School. Students from Lone Star College-Kingwood act as coaches for groups of students at Splendora Early College, meeting once a week to discuss ways in which the Splendora Early College High School students can become more engaged citizens. Current projects include a poverty initiative, a food drive, creating a place for teens to gather, and a school store.

An Issues Convention was held on September 3, 2010, at Splendora Early College High School
to introduce students to the Public Achievement program and talk about possible issues to be addressed
