Faculty Credentialing Task Force (no longer meeting)
The Task Force on Faculty Credential Documentation will be composed of one representative from each college and three representatives from System Office. The task force will be chaired by Julie Leidig, representing the VP Council.
The goal of the task force will be to ensure that Lone Star College System is in compliance with current SACS standards for faculty credentials. During Spring 2005 the task force will make recommendations regarding the following:
- A set of simple, easy-to-use forms to document faculty credentials across the district;
- Basic guidelines for the minimum credentials for all disciplines;
- Specific guidance on the appropriate academic background for faculty who teach interdisciplinary courses or disciplines for which there is little direct graduate-level course work;
- The format for a matrix that can be used for electronic transfer the faculty roster to SACS at the time of re-affirmation;
- Composition of an appeals committee for disputes regarding faculty credentials.
