Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP)
Loans are awarded based on financial need and must be repaid. You may apply for a loan during each academic year after your financial aid grant eligibility has been determined. If you are not making satisfactory academic progress as defined by the college, you may have restrictions imposed on your application.
You may complete the Lone Star College System Financial Aid application process by going to Financial Aid Steps. For your convenience, we've provided a list of lenders from which to choose.
Federal Stafford (subsidized and non-subsidized)
If you qualify for the Stafford subsidized or non-subsidized, you may borrow up to $2,625 for the first year of your two-year program and up to $3,500 for the second year. Federal loans are dispersed no earlier than 30 days after classes begin.
