Please consult with a physician prior to exercise to obtain medical clearance. According to the American Council on Exercise, group exercise is ideally suited for "healthy persons who have no apparent health/physical limitations or special medical needs." Fitness Class Guidelines
Shoes: Please wear proper athletic shoes designed for specific mode of activity. This is highly recommended for safety. Dress Code: Pleasewear athletic attire appropriate for class format. Food/Drinks: No food is permitted in the Wellness Center, water bottle containers are recommended. Age: No one under the age of 18 can use the facility or attend fitness classes unless they are enrolled in a class. Childcare: LSC-Montgomery Wellness Center does not offer childcare.Children may not accompany you in the Wellness Center. Personal Items: The LSC-Montgomery staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All personal items can be put in a locker or kept in group fitness class along the back wall. We advise you not to leave valuable items unattended. Locker room facilities are provided.
Fitness Class Descriptions
Yoga: Expand your mind and body with a yoga class that includes poses that strengthen the body, improve flexibility, increase balance and relax the mind. A portion of the class is focused on relaxation and breathing practice.
Toning, Balance & Stretch: Class incorporates exercises that build strength in the core body as well as improve stability, balance, and flexibility.
Zumba®: Aerobic dance moves including rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats.
Barre–n-Tone: This workout may include ballet exercises with fitness concepts designed to help tone muscles and increase flexibility. May include movements with the use of the ballet barre and/or floor work utilizing light weights, bands and tubing.
NIA Dance: Exhilarating mindful, guided movement class that includes non–impact aerobic conditioning. Class increases flexibility, strength and agility. A mind & body workout designed to train the brain & heart with a focus on stretching and relaxation.
Yoga, Flexibility & Pilates: Class will contain a mix of exercises to help with flexibility and strength. Yoga poses as well as Pilate’s exercises may be incorporated.
Taekwondo:Traditional martial arts. Learn the fundamentals of Taekwondo. All levels are welcome.
Instructor’s Choice: Try this class for a variety of workout formats i.e. Toning ,Balance & Stretch, Strength Training, Step & Tone, Circuits workouts & others.
