Please consult with a physician prior to exercise to obtain medical clearance.
According to the American Council on Exercise, group exercise is ideally suited for “healthy persons who have no apparent health/physical limitations or special medical needs.”
Most fitness classes are approximately 1-hour sessions.
Class schedule is subject to change.
Fitness Class Guidelines
Shoes: Please wear proper athletic shoes designed for specific mode of activity. This is highly recommended for safety.
Dress Code: Please wear athletic attire appropriate for class format.
Food/Drinks: No food is permitted in the Wellness Center, water bottle containers are recommended.
Age: No one under the age of 18 can use the facility or attend fitness classes unless they are enrolled in a class.
Childcare: LSC-Montgomery Wellness Center does not offer childcare. Children may not accompany you in the Wellness Center.
Personal Items: The LSC-Montgomery staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All personal items can be put in a locker or kept in group fitness class along the back wall. We advise you not to leave valuable items unattended.
Fitness Class Descriptions
Body Sculpt:Using equipment such as weights, Bosu, exercise balls, tubing, and bands, this class is designed to tone, strengthen, and sculpt the body.
Boot Camp Circuit: The circuit format alternates cardio and toning exercises for aerobic fitness and strength building. Participants move from one exercise station to the next when time is called every two minutes.
Cardio-Interval Mix: This cardio and toning class will offer a variety of cardio formats including kick boxing. Expect to increase your cardiovascular fitness, agility, and endurance as well as add strength to your muscles.
Cardio Mix: This class consists of a variety of cardiovascular exercises and may include step, hi/lo impact or exercise drills i.e., jumping jacks, jump rope, squats and lunges, also, segments for muscular strength and endurance are included.
Tone, Balance, Stretch: This class incorporates exercises that build strength in the core body (shoulders, chest, abdomen, back, and buttocks) as well as improving stability, balance, and flexibility. Relaxation and breathing practice is included to reduce stress and increase mental clarity.
Hi/Lo Impact & Toning: You will experience plenty of movement and rhythm, combining traditional aerobic – dance class and toning exercises to give you a fun class that increases cardio health and muscle tone.
Step Aerobics & Toning: This class will get your heart rate up by performing choreography on a step bench which can be adjusted to different heights to vary the intensity. The toning exercises may include equipment such as exercise balls, weights, tubing, bands.
Yoga: This hatha yoga class includes poses that strengthen the body, improve flexibility and increase balance. The yoga poses include lunging, squatting, twisting, bending, and reaching. The poses are done laying, sitting, kneeling, and standing. Approximately one tenth of the class time is used for relaxation and breathing practice that reduces stress and increases mental clarity.
