Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)

Requirements for RSO's to receive Student Life funds 2014-2015

RSO's can earn up to $600 in Student Life funds each fall and spring semester by completing the requirements below. Funds are transferred from Student Life into club accounts each semester. Club accounts carry over from year to year, and are not zeroed out at the end of each fiscal year.

All of the requirements below are required for RSO's at LSC-North Harris:

  • Complete RSO Registration Form. This form is typically done toward the beginning of fall semester, or when an organization resumes or commences activities. Form must be updated whenever any information changes.
  • Complete state-mandated Risk Management Training. There is a mandatory RSO Workshop each fall, where this training is covered. Risk management training must be shared with membership at meeting.
  • Participate in both days of Involvement Fair. There is an Involvement Fair near the beginning of fall and spring semesters.
  • Attend SGA Meetings. There are 4 meetings in fall semester and 4 in spring. Must attend all 4 in the semester to earn the full $600. If one meeting is missed, earnings drop to $300. If more than one meeting is missed, no funds are earned for the semester.
  • Submit roster no later than the Friday of Finals week each fall and spring semester. Must use approved form, complete with student ID numbers. A minimum of 8 student members is required.
  • Submit end-of year report no later than the last day of May.

All of the requirements below are required for RSO's at centers and locations connected to LSC-North Harris (Greenspoint, Victory, HPB, Chi):

  • Complete RSO Registration Form. This form is typically done toward the beginning of fall semester, or when an organization resumes or commences activities. Form must be updated whenever any information chafes.
  • Complete state-mandated Risk Management Training. There is a mandator RSO Workshop each fall, where this training is covered.Risk management training must be shared with membership at meeting.
  • Each semester, must conduct a recruitment event to raise awareness of the organization and build membership. The Student Life Coordinator for the centers may conduct a mini "Involvement Fair" at Victory and Greenspoint. See the Coordinator for information.
  • SGA meeting minutes will be posted after each meeting. RSO's at the centers must verify that they have read the minutes and shared any relevant information with club members at a meeting.
