This presentation focuses on how courage and serendipity led Dr. Filoteo to earning her Ph.D in sociology. She will also share the unique challenges she faced as a first-generation college student and the strategies and belief systems she used to overcome them.

Zachary Caballero is an attorney in the State of Texas, a nationally recognized Mexican-American Spoken Word Poet, public speaker, and descendant of Mexican Immigrants. Cabllero is the first lawyer in his family, a first-generation undergraduate student, and first-generation law students. Join us as he share his story and provudes us with strategies on how to be successful. In addition, Zachary will share his poetry.
