For the “Hard Thing Challenge,” over the next year I will learn to communicate (even if I have to do so slowly) using sign language. As proof, I will deliver some of my President’s Welcome speech in Fall 2018 while signing.  I’ll find a way to learn, either in a class or online, and practice with those who already know sign language. Learning to sign will enable me to teach my daughter, Rachel, who is speech delayed. She already knows a few signs – which we use to communicate. So hopefully this will help her, too.
