Looking for that one-of-a-kind holiday gift for someone special? Lone Star College-North Harris’ Fine Arts Department will host its’ annual Student Art Sale on Dec. 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building, 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive, Houston, TX 77073.
Numerous, unique pieces will be on sale to the public. Art includes ceramics, jewelry, paintings, drawings and prints, all created by students in art classes offered at the college. According to Eric T Sims, dean of Fine Arts at LSC-North Harris, “The art sale has been a long-standing tradition at LSC-North Harris, providing an arena to showcase our student’s talents to our community.”
A portion of the sales go to Art Department scholarships, which are awarded to deserving students each semester, Sims added.
“The art pieces sell quickly, so it’s best to visit the sale early, and only cash and checks will be accepted,” said Sims.
The Lone Star College-North Harris Art program is taught by experienced faculty who exhibit work locally and throughout the United States. A full curriculum for Art majors is available including courses in art history, ceramics, design, drawing, design communications, painting, photography, printmaking, metals and jewelry and sculpture. Art majors are encouraged to speak with an Art Faculty member for advising.
