Below you will find questions and answers.

What is provided?

All participants receive a free t-shirt (first come, first served basis for sizes) and lunch.

How long should I prepare to be involved?

The day spans from 8 am – 1:30 pm (at the latest). Most projects will take 2 – 3 hours. Everyone should be finished by 1:30 pm. After each service project teams will discuss and share their experiences and enjoy lunch.

What should I wear?

We suggest wearing knee length pants, a comfortable shirt and close-toed shoes. We provide each participant (on first come, first serve basis) with a t-shirt to wear for the day. Wear clothes you are okay with getting dirty.

What should I bring?

LSC-Tomball cannot take responsibility for your belongings on Day of Service. You will be responsible for everything you bring. Most sites will not have access to water and cups.  We recommend participants to bring water bottles.

Where and when do I show up?

Day of Service check-in will begin at 8 am in the Beckendorf Conference Center.

Will I get a Day of Service reminder email?

Yes, reminder emails will go out to all pre-registered volunteers.

How do I get to my volunteer site?

Transportation will not be provided. Volunteers can carpool together to sites if they wish. But LSC-Tomball will not be coordinating rides.

What if I want to volunteer at the same site with my friends or student organization?

When you are contacted by your campus coordinator, please inform them that you are with a group.  We will try to accommodate your request.

What happens if it rains?

Participants with outdoor projects will be contacted regarding alternate rain locations.

Can I receive community service credit for participating in Day of Service?

Yes, if you wish to receive community service credit, please bring with you your community service form. After you complete your service project speak with the individual at the non-profit organization to verify and sign off on the form.
