Large Intestine - Colon Mucosa

The colon lacks villi (no lacteals) the deep pockets are called crypts of Lieberkuhn.
The mucosal layer villi of the large intestine is filled with goblet cells. The mucus secreted by these goblet cells compacts the feces.
