- Visual Communications Department
The LSC Visual Communication program offers a 3D Animation Certificate that can be easily transformed into a 3D Animation AAS Degree. Students in this track learn to create 3D objects, characters, environments, and animations for gaming, medical, product and architectural visualization, interactive multimedia presentations, TV broadcast and theatrical special effects.
The curriculum of the 3D Animation track contains a solid foundation in fine art including fundamental aspects such as line, form, composition and color, drawing and painting skills, lighting and photographic principles, and proficiency in industry standard 3D software. Students learn to work in a team environment as well as individually, and all under reasonable deadlines. Companies that hire 3D animators include motion picture studios, video game production studios, corporate training and marketing departments, advertising firms, video production companies, architectural firms, medical agencies and self-employment.
The LSC Visual Communication program trains today’s digital designers in the communication media of the future. The goal of the program is to create a stimulating learning environment where students can pursue their specific interests within six areas of professional study: graphic design, multimedia, web design, video and post production, motion graphics and 3-D animation. Design services, publishing, advertising, public relations, computer systems design and related services contain areas of employment for the visual communication graduate.
