Procedures for Applying for CE Articulated Credit
Students have the opportunity to earn college semester hour credits for certain courses in Community Education once they are fully admitted into the college. Students completing Community Education articulated courses are held to the same standards on projects, class activities, exams, and all other aspects of learning as credit students. Students who wish to transfer this type of credit to a four-year university must check with the university to ensure transferability of credits.
When a CE to Credit articulation agreement is in place, students who have earned CEU's with a grade of "S" after Summer, 2000 may apply for articulated credit. A CE course taken from 2005 to present is articulated if it was liked to a credit course.

Student Procedures to Apply for Articulated CE Credit
- A student interested in earning credit for coursework previously taken for CEU credit contacts the designated college office for a listing of the available articulated courses. Appendix C contains a sample list of CE to Credit Articulated Courses and the CE to Credit Articulation Agreement template.
- The student must have earned at least 6 college credit hours to be eligible. Eligible students complete the Application for PLA by Articulation form including the prefix and course number. Only courses that have articulation agreements on file starting with the summer of 2000 semester can be awarded credit. There is no fee associated with this process.
- A college reviewer or designee reviews the student record to determine if the course is approved for articulation and if the student meets the college's admission and TSI requirements. If an articulation agreement is in place and the student satisfactorily completed the course, the Continuing Education Administrator or designee signs the form to indicate approval. If the CE course was taken prior to 2005, the college reviewer can determine if an articulation agreement was in place by checking the CE to Credit Articulation Chart . CE courses taken from 2005-present are articulated if they were linked to a credit course.
- The Continuing Education Administrator or designee verifies that the student satisfactorily completed the course and signs the form for approval. The form is forwarded to the academic dean for review and signature.
- The completed form is forwarded to the Lone Star College System District Student Information Services Office for posting of "CR" to the student's transcript.
