High School Articulation Courses by School District (out of area)

The following school districts are outside the Lone Star College System service area; however, remain partners of LSCS through course articulation.

Steps for working with students outside the service area: 

1.  Click on the school district name to access a chart that contains only Locally Articulated courses.       LSCS will honor Statewide Articulated credit for courses on the general crosswalk list.

2.  Click here for the general list of only the statewide articulated courses offered at LSCS (not by ISD).

**Advisors, please review both lists to ensure accurate information on the PLA application.**

  • Lone Star College System Course/Number/Name: this is the course offered at LSCS
  • ISD Course: this is the course offered at the ISD that transfers to the LSCS course
  • PEIMS #: Public Education Information Management System Number required on the PLA application
  • Grade: this is the minimum grade required to transfer the ISD course to LSCS - 80 in each semester
Local Course Articulation Contract Request

If you or your school district is interested in establishing a local course articulation agreement with one of LSCS workforce education courses, please review these instructions and complete the application below, then forward the requested materials to: courtney.k.powell@lonestar.edu.

Instructions for Requesting a Local Course Articulation Contract:

 

1.       Provide a resume on the instructor(s) for the course to be reviewed or complete Part I of the application.  If your ISD has multiple teachers for a particular subject, then please provide their education and work credentials in a spreadsheet type format.  We are required to verify credentials as meeting SACS requirements before establishing an agreement to award college credit for a high school course. 

 

2.       Complete Part II of the application which identifies the course(s) you are interested in for college credit as well as the degree(s) that offer the course(s).   This information can be found in the online catalogue.  Please take the time to investigate this information; it will speed up the review process tremendously.

 

3.       Please provide the following information and anything in addition so that our faculty can clearly understand what you are teaching in your course:

 

·         Scope and Sequence or Syllabus

·         Number of hours spent on each competency

                Example:  Chapter 1 topics – 1 week – 5days – 53m/day = 4.4 hours

·         List of books and other materials (we do not need the actual book)

Methods of assessment, i.e. projects, exams, papers, presentations
