Exhibitors

We encourage authors, presses, non-profit organizations, and businesses to purchase a table and participate in the Bayou City Book Festival on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Lone Star College-Kingwood. There are a limited number of tables and booths available for purchase. To exhibit, you'll need to do three things:
  1. Review our Exhibitor Handbook for pertinent details
  2. Sign and submit our Exhibitor Contract. Contracts may be scanned to: Chelsie.A.Meredith@lonestar.edu or else mailed to

Volunteers

Volunteers help make BCBF run smoothly. Volunteers are assigned specific jobs within 2-3 hour intervals such as:

  • Booth Managers
  • Parking Attendants
  • Room Attendants
  • Vendor Attendants
  • Sales Helpers
  • Set Up and Take Down Helpers
  • Information Table Managers

All volunteers must complete an information session and register prior to the event. Volunteers receive a free BCBF T-shirt in appreciation of your hard work. If you or your organization would like to volunteer, please e-mail us at Chelsie.A.Meredith@lonestar.edu

Student Contests

BCBF seeks to continually be engaged with Lone Star College students. To achieve these ends, we're creating two contests for LSC students. A Poster Contest and a Writing Contest. One winner will be chosen for each contest. Winners receive:
  • a scholarship to assist in tuition and book costs
  • the poster winner will have their art work displayed and available for purchase at BCBF 2017 events (winners will not receive payment from these purchases)
  • the writer winner will have the opportunity to read their work at a festival event
Applications are have been extended to Friday, March 24, 2017. 

Poster Contest

  • All submissions must be original work of Lone Star College Students active between Fall 2017-Spring 2017.
  • Do not include any identifying information on the submission. All submissions are blind read.
  • You may send in multiple submissions; however, each submission should only be one poster concept.
  • Please upload all submissions as .JPG files. 
  • Please note that the chosen file may be altered to include BCBF relevant information including but not limited to the logo. You may include the following information: Bayou City Book Festival, dates, contact information, and About. 
  • Poster should be able to print at an 11 x 17 page. 

Writing Contest

  • All submissions must be original work of Lone Star College Students active between Fall 2017-Spring 2017.
  • Do not include any identifying information on the submission. All submissions are blind read.
  • You may send in multiple submissions; however, each submission should only be one narrative, short play, or poem (one poem per page).
  • We will accept all genres of writing.
  • Submissions should be no more than 10 pages long. 
  • Please upload all submissions as .PDF files.
