Overview

Description

Multimedia design is the art of integrating multiple forms of media. It is used in websites, instructional media design, information kiosks, social media and many other interactive applications. The LSC Visual Communication program offers a Multimedia Designer Certificate and a Multimedia AAS degree for a growing number of industries including advertising agencies, large corporations, film and TV production companies, and self-employment.

Students study a wide range of digital technologies used in multiple areas of media design. Topics integrate classic principles of fine art including fundamental aspects such as line, form, composition and color, and drawing skills. Web design, graphic design, videography, digital sound, file optimization, 3D animation and motion graphics are all part of the Multimedia Designer track. Students learn to work in a team environment as well as individually, and all under reasonable deadlines.

The LSC Visual Communication program trains today’s digital designers in the communication media of the future. The goal of the program is to create a stimulating learning environment where students can pursue their specific interests within six areas of professional study: graphic design, multimedia, web design, video and post production, motion graphics and 3-D animation. Design services, publishing, advertising, public relations, computer systems design and related services contain areas of employment for the visual communication graduate.
