Lone Star College-Tomball Nursing Program General Information


LSC-Tomball Mission Statement

The mission of the nursing program at Lone Star College-Tomball is to provide a quality education to prepare competent, caring, ethical members of the profession of nursing in a dynamic health care environment. We believe the community college provides an ideal, accessible setting for nursing education where students of all backgrounds may achieve their goals. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Transition programs of study are founded on an integrated curriculum model, in which components of classroom and clinical content are organized around a series of concepts that progress from simple to complex. The Vocational Nursing (VN) program is based upon the Board of Nursing Educational guidelines.

ELA: 80% of the graduates will report securing a job in nursing at the time of the new grad survey

ADN & Transition :

100% report jobs within nursing

English Proficiency Requirement Information

Students who are accepted or placed on the Alternate List  of the Basic Track, Transition for Articulating Students or Vocational Nursing program must show English proficiency before acceptance into their respective program.


Beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2017, Lone Star College Montgomery will offer the HESI A2 test.  Please follow directions found on the HESI Pre-Entrance Exam Test Ticket.

Math placement scores on Compass, ASSET, Accuplacer, and THEA will be valid for three (3) years.


HESI A2 Exam Deadline:  Friday, September 15, 2017 at noon

Application Deadline:  Friday, September 22, at 4pm.
