iStar FLUX

The New myLoneStar Has Arrived!

The FLUX (FLuid User eXperience) interface that was previously applied to our iStar HCM and FSCM applications earlier this fall was applied to both the myLoneStar portal and our iStar Campus Solutions application the night of December 6, 2018.

Getting Started and How-To Documents, Job Aids, and On-Demand Videos

Ushering in a new era of mobile-friendly applications comes with a learning curve. Although no functionality changed, the entire look and feel did. To help everyone traverse the curve, our Enterprise Applications Consulting Services Team has been busy creating and updating documentation to ensure the navigation paths and screenshots reflect the new interface. Here are a list of helpful documentation and On-Demand videos to assist everyone in becoming familiar with the new interface and navigation paths:

Getting Started and How-To Documents

A Getting Started PDF, Getting Started with myLoneStar Self-Service – Student Homepage, is available on the myLoneStar homepage in the bottom right calendar reminder window. This is geared primarily for students but is also helpful as a quick reference to identify the various navigation and service tiles and icons.

On-Demand training videos that outline the navigation paths of the Employee Homepage and Faculty Homepage are available in http://upk.lonestar.edu/. Select Knowledge Paths to view the list of available modules, or click on the following links to be re-directed to these helpful training modules:

Job Aids and On-Demand Videos

From the myLoneStar homepage, select the Employee tile to open the Employee Self-Service homepage. From here, select the iStar Info icon   in the left menu to look for iStar job aids, training sessions or On-Demand videos.

How-To Documents for Students

Besides the Getting Started PDF mentioned earlier, there are also a variety of How-To documents available to students. From the myLoneStar homepage, students will select the Student tile to open their Student Homepage.

From there, they will need to select the Links icon in the left menu bar to open their Quicklinks menu where “How-to” Documents can be found.

Go to Request iStar Job Aid, Training Materials, or Instructor-led Training to request updated documentation, job-aids or other printed iStar documentation, OnDemand simulations, and/or in-person classes.
