The Process Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares graduates for entry-level careers as Process Technologists/ Operators. Courses within the program include an Introduction to Process Technology, Process Instrumentation, Equipment, Systems, and Operations as well as Safety, Health & Environment, Applied Instrumental Analysis, Industrial Processes, Principles of Quality and Troubleshooting. Through classroom instruction, the use of state of the art simulation equipment and hands on experiences, the student will develop the skills required to be a successful process technician/ operator.
The Process Technology Associate of Applied Science is awarded for successful completion of the 60 semester credit hours required in the degree plan. The duties of a process technician/operator vary depending upon the industry with the primary responsibility being to optimize a specialized engineering process and keep it on track. Graduates possess the technical skills and knowledge to perform essential processes in petrochemical plants, refineries, power generation, food and beverage and pharmaceuticals.
