Lone Star College-Tomball hosted a virtual Juneteenth Conference aimed to inform attendees about the national holiday and its place in American history. The first presenter, Ed Cotham Jr., author and historian, dispelled popular fallacies about what happened at Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865.

University of Texas at San Antonio, Lone Star College STEM Scholarship
Through Lone Star College (LSC) and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), LSC STEM students have a $15,000 annual, renewable scholarship opportunity. The scholarship opportunity seeks to increase technical talent in high-demand fields, cultivate innovation, and fill local industry needs. Former Lone Star College-Tomball international student, Daniel Witt, was awarded the scholarship.

College President
Dr. Lee Ann Nutt was named president of LSC-Tomball in February 2015 after serving as the Vice President of Instruction since 2011. While this is her first presidency, Dr. Nutt has served in community college leadership roles for more than 20-years. Dr. Nutt is an adjunct faculty member for Ferris State University’s Doctorate in Community College Leadership program. She is the primary author of Complete the Agenda in Higher Education: Challenge Beliefs About Student Success, published by Rowman & Littlefield in Spring 2019.
