LSC-Montgomery Adult Education

Offerings for Adults & Seniors

The Academy of Lifelong Learning at LSC-Montgomery is an organization for older adults (50 and over).

It offers non-credit classes and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth. A $35 membership fee entitles you to take ALL courses free of charge; utilize the services of Lone Star College-Montgomery, for example, Extended Learning, library, internet access, theatre activities; participate in social activities with older active adults and share a joy of learning with people who will broaden your life; study under the guidance of members who represent a wide range of expertise and life experiences; share your avocation of formal training as an ALL instructor; develop friendships within a diverse group of people; and be a part of a collective voice of active adults in the community. Adult Enrichment (Leisure) Continuing Education Program
(18 years and over)

The mission of the Adult Enrichment (formerly known as Leisure) Continuing Education Division is to serve a diverse adult student population by providing classes and programs for personal enrichment that are educational, cultural, improve workplace skills through a non-certificate program and economic development using the latest technology in an atmosphere that fosters continuous improvement and lifelong learning.

Adult Enrichment (Leisure) classes are open to the public regardless of residence.

Courses are primarily designed for the adult learner. Students between the ages of 15-17 must have written permission. Those 13-14 years old must have a parent or guardian enrolled in the same class. The exceptions are classes designed for youth.

Senior discounts are available for all students enrolling in an adult enrichment (leisure) class; however, the Academy for Lifelong Learning classes are specifically designed for the mature learner. View the CE schedule for a complete list of Adult Enrichment (Leisure) classes (PDF).


Testing and Test Prep

The Lone Star College-Conroe Center offers GED Test Prep & GED Testing. For more information, call 936-271-6000, 936-271-6047, 936-271-6029 or 936-271-6002.

GED Preparation
The GED Review course is offered in both English and Spanish.

GED Review classes (not required to register for GED Test) are scheduled periodically in the fall, spring, and summer on Mondays and Wednesdays in the evening (6-9:30 p.m.), Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning (8-11:30 a.m. or 9 a.m.-12 p.m.), Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening (6-9:30 p.m.), and Saturdays (8-11:30 a.m.).  Tuition is $88.

GED Test
LSC-Lone Star College-Conroe Center is an official GED Testing Center. The GED (General Educational Development) Certificate is awarded by the Texas Education Agency.

To register, bring a valid government-issued ID and a social security card (most cases). The GED Full Test ($100) and Partial Test ($25 per section) is offered in English (monthly) and Spanish (every other month).

Tests are given on Mondays and Wednesdays in the evening (6-9:30 p.m.), Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning (8-11:30 a.m. or 9-12 p.m.), Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening (6-9:30 p.m.), and Saturdays (8-11:30 a.m.).

SAT Preparation
The SAT Review course is offered to high school students who would like a thorough review prior to taking the new SAT exam. This course is a collaboration with University of Houston-Downtown, taught at our main campus on HW 242. Please go to the UHD website for course registration, pricing and schedule information. SAT Prep meet Monday and Wensday evenings from 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 - noon.
