Aurora Project

What is the Aurora Project?

The Aurora Project is a free, fast-paced and intensive college readiness program that is offered to recent GED graduates and re-entering adults over the age of eighteen.  The 10-week program will focus on the areas of Reading/Writing, Math, Computer Literacy and Student Success Strategies that will prepare students for the rigorous demands of college life. 

Cohort Session Dates

  • September 21 - December 4, 2012
  • January 11 - March 22, 2013
  • April 1 - June 11, 2013

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Complete registration form
  • Take pre-THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment) and LASSI (Learning and Study Strategies Inventory). Test scores are basis for program admission
  • Take post-THEA test-end of cohort
  • Attend daily classes and mentoring/advising workshops

The Aurora Grant is funded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  THECB provides leadership and coordination for the Texas Higher Education System and works to achieve excellence for the college education of Texas students.
