Black Male Summit

Black Male SummitLone Star College-North Harris, part of the Lone Star College System is passionate about providing quality educational opportunities for the successful development of knowledge, skills and attitudes for a rapidly changing world. At all levels, educational institutions across the country are coordinating activities to promote multi-level success for African American males. In particular, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board established the first African American Male Advisory Committee (AAMAC) in October 2007. The advisory committee's charge was to discuss creative strategies to recruit and retain African American males into higher education.

The Lone Star College System's first African American male summit in 2008 was a response to the AAMAC's work along with acknowledging the importance of helping our African American youth meet their educational goals. Because of the tremendous and positive feedback from that first event, LSC-North Harris is proud to host this unique presentation for the second time.
