Thought for the Day
Love is the immortal flow of energy that nourishes, extends and preserves.

Its eternal goal is life (Smiley Blanton).

Welcome! I look forward to a successful semester of reading, discussing, and writing.

Both Composition and Rhetoric I and Composition and Rhetoric II (English 1301 and English 1302, respectively) are writing intensive. Both courses use professionally written, quality selections as the springboard for the discussion of ideas and how ideas are effectively expressed in writing.

  • In 1301, we focus on the analysis of and the writing of personal essays.
  • In 1302, we focus on the analysis of and writing about literature–drama, poetry, and fiction.

In all classes, students are expected to be present and to actively participate in small and large group discussions.

We begin the study of composition and rhetoric beginning with the first class meeting. Be present!

After you have registered for a class and one week before class begins, please log into eCampus Vista.
