Juan is currently a PeopleSoft developer. In the past six years he has focused on providing technical solutions utilizing Oracle technologies. Some of his previous technical experience includes system administration (NT and Unix), web development, and database administration. He has a bachelorís in technical management and an associate in Computer Technology. In addition to English, he is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Jordan is a graduate University of Houston and recently joined Lone Star College System as a PeopleSoft Developer for Campus Solutions. He brings with him previous experiences as developer in PeopleSoft Higher Education. Jordan is responsible for supporting and maintaining the iStar Campus Solutions systems while engaging in new technologies such as web services and integrations. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs and lovely cat named pebbles.
Mary Sims is a PeopleSoft developer at Lone Star College System. As a member of the Campus Solutions team, Mary works with the business analysts to transform needs expressed by our Lone Star leadership into working, customized solutions that enhance iStar for our users. She also supports State Reporting, and troubleshoots Campus Solutions processes as needed to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
A systems analyst is responsible for researching, planning, coordinating and recommending software and system choices to meet an organization's business requirements. The systems analyst plays a vital role in the systems development process. The systems analyst must be able to work with various programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms. Management skills help systems analysts manage projects, resources, risk, and change. Interpersonal skills help systems analysts work with end users as well as with analysts, programmers, and other systems professionals.
James (Jim) Mathews serves as the Technical Information Manager for the Enterprise Applications Campus Solutions Team. He has been working in the technology field for over thirty years. During this time, he has held a number of positions working as a software developer, development team manager, support team manager, a consultant and as a teacher/trainer. He brings his depth of experience, technical skills and management capabilities to his current position where he supports the administration and management operations for the department. Primary responsibilities include leading the team in keeping the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software current, acting as technical liaison between the Campus Solutions Team and the other technology support groups, as well as providing support for large technology projects.
James Silva is a Sr. Systems Analyst and Business Analyst supporting PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials and also assisting with third party systems including TouchNet. James has been employed with Lone Star College System for 13 years in the Office of Technology Services and holds a BS in Computer Science from Sam Houston State University. James is the recipient of the LSCS Staff Excellence Award and LSCS All Star Award. James enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to Christian music, fishing and watching sports.
Ben is Sr. Systems Analyst and has been employed by LSCS for almost 14 years. He is currently the TouchNet technical lead, and the 3rd party evaluator. Ben has worked on programming in the Pick language and worked on the Datatel software until about three years ago. He additionally wrote the SPEEDE process in 1996/1997 on a contract basis for NHMCCD. Ben has been in data processing for 30 years.
Business Analysts must analyze and synthesize information provided by a large number of people who interact with the business, such as customers, staff, IT professionals, and executives. The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting the actual needs of stakeholders, not simply their expressed desires. In many cases, the Business Analyst will also work to facilitate communication between organizational units. In particular, Business Analysts often play a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology, and may serve as a ďtranslatorĒ between those groups.
Cindyís days are spent supporting iStar Campus Solutions modules (Student Records, Curriculum Management, Admissions, and Campus Community) which includes troubleshooting issues, writing queries to determine data discrepancies, researching changes in the software, working with developers to find and implement solutions; testing and creating documentation for bundles, communicating changes to the software, working with business owners and end users to determine their business requirement changes and enhancements to the software; etc. Away from the office, youíll find Cindy studying for her bachelorís degree, serving in her church and hanging out with her 7 amazing grandchildren.
Cindy Schoppa is the Student Records, Campus Community, Academic Advising, and Continuing Education Business Analyst for Enterprise Application, Office of Technology Services with Lone Star College System. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star College and is currently working towards earning her Bachelor degree. When she isnít glued to the computer, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her dogs and watching football!
Sam Chau is the Financial Aid User Liaison for Enterprise Application, Office of Technology Service with Lone Star College. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Houston Downtown. On his off time, he enjoys playing basketball and soccer.
The PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS) Information Manager manages key LSCS CS initiatives aimed at improving business and system processes. The PeopleSoft CS Information Manager is responsible to act as a business liaison with LSC User Group for bridging CS Business requirements with technology and to monitor the development, implementation, and maintenance associated with iStar CS. Troubleshooting, training and documenting enhancements and module implementations are also a core part of the PeopleSoft CS Information Manager role. The PeopleSoft CS Information Manager works closely with CS Management to enhance the system processes in conjunction with overall CS Goals and Objectives.
Renata has been working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems over 15 years. She has managed implementations and trainings of complex ERP systems for over 500 businesses and over 5,000 training end users. She most recently was the Lead Instructional Developer/Trainer for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Lone Star College conversion. Renata is working toward her Masterís degree in Technology Management. Renata is also an adjunct instructor who enjoys teaching computer and certified dog therapy classes for continuing education.
