In an effort to assist students with child care services, LSC-Kingwood established KidCare. The program is designed to provide children 3–5 years of age with daytime child care services while students attend class. KidCare is available to students who are enrolled in at least nine hours of coursework. The program is located in the newly remodeled facility in the college’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). The program is administered in cooperation with the Lake Houston YMCA KidCare program.
The mission of the KidCare program is to provide exemplary childcare services for the children of students attending the college

A. For the Fall 2012 semester, the KidCare program will begin To be announced, and end December 13, 2012.
A. The hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A. The program is only available to children 3–5 years of age.
A. LSC-Kingwood is committed to provide child care services at an affordable cost to the student. The cost is $30 per week per child and includes activities and snacks.
A. The program runs with a preferred ratio of 1 to 10. Staff members meet all requirements according to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, including but not limited to
A. No more than 35 students can be accommodated at one time. The program provides services to students on a first-come, first served basis.
A. The curriculum is designed with specific objectives for each age level and child. Children receive snacks during their stay.
