College invites students, public to fall Transfer Fair

College invites students, public to fall Transfer FairAs the economy continues to improve, the demand for educated workers will increase.

Students interested in obtaining their bachelor or graduate degrees are invited to attend the Transfer Fair at Lone Star College-Atascocita Center. The free event is on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Colleges and universities across the state will attend to help students meet their academic goals.

“The college is committed to helping our students and the community make a smooth transition from community college to a four-year university. Instead of having students contact each school individually, we wanted to bring the schools to them,” said Nicole Keenan, director of admissions and outreach.

The Transfer Fair is an event to assist students with their educational journey. At the fair, representatives from approximately 25 institutions will provide information regarding transfer admissions, student services, financial aid and more. Students are encouraged to bring copies of their transcripts to discuss transfer options. On the spot advising will be available. Unofficial transcripts will be available for LSC-Kingwood and LSC-Atascocita Center students who need them.

“The goal of this year’s event is to provide opportunities for students to meet with their potential universities, and to give them support in the transition from Lone Star College-Kingwood to their chosen university,” said Zabrina Scott, outreach and recruitment representative and event coordinator.

This event is open to all students and the public. Students need to bring their Lone Star identification. LSC-Atascocita Center is located at 15903 West Lake Houston Parkway. For more information, email Zabrina.Scott@LoneStar.edu.
