The North Houston Economic Development Center serves to foster a sustainable, economic environment conducive to business, job, and community growth by providing resources and support for regional economic development activities. The North Houston EDC is an agency of Lone Star College within the Office of External Affairs. Our mission is to promote a dynamic entrepreneurial environment resulting in job creation and retention, and economic sustainability in the north Houston region.

North Houston EDC Services Include

  • Assistance in business recruitment and site selection
  • Support and leadership in community and economic development for the unincorporated areas of the region
  • Conducting research and providing reports related to demographics, labor force and industry data, and community assessments
  • Business development assistance in collaboration with Lone Star College's economic development assets, which include the LSC-Corporate College, LSC-Energy & Manufacturing Institute, LSC-Community Leadership and Engagement, and LSC-Small Business Development Council programs
  • Providing a central point of contact for the region and introductions to regional economic development leadership, business and community leaders, and public officials
