TYPES OF ARTICULATION AGREEMENTS
Local Articulation Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) -Statewide Articulation Purpose Established for courses advanced career and technical courses not on ATC
Established for common secondary and post-secondary technical courses Process
- CTE director submits Request For Local Articulation Agreement to Tech Prep coordinator
- Faculty within the program of study thoroughly review the scope and sequence of the course as well as teacher credentials
- Instructor intending to teach the course for articulated credit must meet Southern Associate of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credentials
- CTE instructors complete an electronic application on the ATC website
- The application is reviewed by the ATC program housed at Stephen F. Austin State University
- Curriculum is reviewed by faculty facilitators during ATC training events
- Instructor must meet Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS) credentials
Training
Coordinated by Tech Prep Coordinator- Delivery Method Varies (Face-to-Face, Teleconference, WebEx, etc.)
- Part I of training delivered online
- Instructors must attend an ATC training event to complete Part II
- Gulf Coast Tech Prep consortium host an annual training session for the Gulf Coast Region
Expiration
- Curriculum change(s)
- Instructor(s) changes
- Tech Prep Coordinator must be notified of all changes
- Renew every 3 years
Credit Student may be eligible for credit at one of the Lone Star College System campuses Students may be eligible for credit at any community or technical college across the state that participates in ATC and offers a matching course.
