The holiday season brings joy, traveling and celebrating but also brings an opportunity for theft and other illegal activities. Lone Star College Police provide the following safety tips and reminds students, staff, faculty and the community to take the necessary precautions at all times.

If you are on campus and have an emergency, please call X5911.

	Walk in pairs when possible.
	Secure all electronic devices (tablets, note books, computers, cell phones).
	Park close to the buildings if possible.
	Be aware of your surroundings.
	Stay off of your cell phone when walking to your vehicle.
	Never leave an unattended vehicle running.
	Lock all items of importance in the trunk of your vehicle.
	When leaving your home, if you will not be returning during daylight hours, make sure your house is well lit inside and out.
	Never walk away from your purse while it is in a shopping cart.
	If you are in a car accident at night drive to a well-lit, populated area before exchanging information.
