- provides research, test, evaluation, and appolication of biometric-based personal Eidentification/verification technology.
Cybercrime
- from the Department of Justice's Computer Crime and Property Section, site provides policies, cases, laws, news updates and other documents related to the prevention of computer crimes.

Federal Communications Commission
- agency responsible for interstate and international communication by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable.
Internet Crime Complaint Center
- sponsored by a joint partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), Attorney General Janet Reno described this site as providing "a clearinghouse for the exploding number of online thefts." Consumers who suspect Internet fraud can quickly and efficiently share information with law enforcement officials.
NIST Computer Security Resource Clearinghouse
- designed to collect and disseminate computer security information and resources. A primary goal of the CSRC is to raise awareness of all computer systems users -- from novice to expert -- about computer security.
Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Department of Transportation's Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) represents the next step in the evolution of the nation's transportation system, providing the latest in computers, electronics, communications and safety systems. These advancements can be applied to the transportation infrastructure of highways, streets and bridges, as well as to a growing number of vehicles.
National Institute of Standards and Technology Information Technology Laboratory
- program activities include: high performance computing and communications systems; emerging network technologies; access to, exchange, and retrieval of complex information; computational and statistical methods; information security; and testing tools and methods to improve the quality of software.
National Science Foundation: Computer, Information Sciences
- devoted to promoting research and education in the computer science, engineering, and information science fields.
National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA
) - NTIA is the Executive Branch's principal voice on domestic and international telecommunications and information technology issues. Site includes telecommunications grant information and information on management of internet names and addresses.
SmartGov
- sustained by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Governmentwide Policy, Office of Electronic Commerce, Card Technology; and the GSA Smart Card Initiatives; SmartGov is dedicated to showing the many ways the U.S. Federal Government is involved in the technologies of smart cards.
