Who Should Complete the Student Orientation for Online Courses? All students enrolled in fully online and hybrid courses are required to complete the Student Orientation for Online Courses before being able to access their courses in ANGEL. The Student Orientation for Online Courses is designed for quick completion—usually in less than an hour.
How Does the Student Orientation for Online Courses Work? When you first log into the myLoneStar portal, look for the PC mouse icon and its corresponding text label, LSC Online (Online Classes), to view your online courses. Once the link is clicked, A small window will open on top of the icon displaying a green button with white text that says "View My Online Classes." Clicking on this button will take you to your online courses. The Student Orientation for Online Courses is below your course list in a component called Community Groups. Click the orientation and go through the material, then take the short assessment at the end. After you successfully score an 80% or higher on the assessment, you will be able to access your courses on or after the course start date.
Do I Have to Take the Student Orientation for Online Courses Every Semester? No. Students who have completed the orientation once will not have to take it again for three years.
