LSC-Montgomery Alternative Teacher Certification Program

The Lone Star College-Montgomery teacher certification program is approved by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification. This program is for individuals who already have a bachelor's degree or higher. The program offers training toward the following HIGH NEED certificates:
  • Early Childhood to 6th Grade Bilingual Generalist (Spanish)
  • 4th-8th Grade Bilingual Generalist (Spanish)
  • 4th-8th Grade Generalist
  • 4th-8th Grade Math
  • 8th-12th Grade Math
  • 4th-8th Grade Science
  • 8th-12th Grade Chemistry
  • 8th-12th Grade Life Science
  • 8th-12th Grade Physical Science
  • 8th-12th Grade Science (Composite)
  • Early Childhood to 12th Grade Special Education
  • 6th to 12th Grade Foreign Languages
 
Information Sessions

Attending an Information Session is highly recommended. The PowerPoint presentation will cover admissions criteria, tuition, training, testing, and internship. You do not need to make reservations to attend. Please check the dates and room locations often as this information is subject to change.

Training Cycles

LSC-Montgomery conducts three training cycles each year--fall, spring, and summer. Applications are accepted year-round with the following deadlines:

**If you are applying for the April 5 deadline and need to take the THEA, March 17 is the LAST DAY to take the Quick THEA on our campus and get your scores back in time to meet the deadline. No exceptions. Please note Spring Break (offices closed March 18-21) **

**If you are applying for the June 25 deadline and need to take the THEA, June 11 is the LAST DAY to take the Quick THEA on our campus and get your scores back in time to meet the deadline. No exceptions. Please note our campus is closed on Fridays during Summer Session**


You must be an admitted Teacher Certification Program student to apply for clinical teaching. Review the Clinical Teacher Information.
