LSCS Tips for Severe Weather

Lone Star College System Community,

LSCS is monitoring the weather and road conditions in our area. LSCS is under normal operations. We ask all to use their best judgment to determine when it is safe to travel.  Please contact your supervisor or instructor if you should have any concerns.  Tips for Safe Driving:-Allow for more travel time. You should plan to drive at a slower pace than normal when the roads are wet.  -Brake earlier and with less force than you would normally. -Avoid crossing flooded areas.  -Turn on your headlights, even when there's a light sprinkle. -Watch out for pedestrians. Keep a sharp lookout for people in the road.-Pull over and wait it out, if it is raining so hard that you cannot see the road or the car in front of you.-Give a truck or bus extra distance. -Defog your windows.  Play it smart, play it safe.  Whether driving or walking, any time you come to a flooded road, TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN! Turn Around, Don't Drown (TADD):  http://tadd.weather.gov/tadd-intro.shtmlNational Weather Service (NWS):  http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ Be Prepared…Stay Safe!Dr. Denise Walker
