Academy for Lifelong Learning Elects Board of Directors

Spring Kick-off Open House Set for Saturday, January 12

ALL @ MC Board of DirectorsThe Academy for Lifelong Learning at Montgomery College (ALL@MC) has elected its board of directors for the 2007-2008 year. Officers include Donna Smith Burns, chair, Montgomery; Nathan Price, vice-chair, The Woodlands; and Adora Kutchin, secretary, The Woodlands.

Other board members include Bill Barkhouse, Spring; Bob Bockeloh, Conroe; Judi Bonds, The Woodlands; Helen Bostock, Montgomery; Lillian Scott-Baer, The Woodlands; Gene Bruce, The Woodlands; John Haydel, Conroe; Jim Hyndman, The Woodlands; Pam Jones, The Woodlands; Carolyn Nash-Kosclskey, Conroe; Morris Orocofsky, The Woodlands; Ann Vandiver, The Woodlands; Lance Vinson, The Woodlands; Dave Dennison, The Woodlands; and Mary Whitaker, Tomball. Theresa Benavides, CE coordinator at Montgomery College, helps coordinate the ALL@MC program.

ALL@MC is a membership-based organization for older adults and offers non-credit classes and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth. ALL@MC has 1250-plus members and conducts classes and lectures at Montgomery College, The University Center, Jones State Forest and a variety of other off-site locations.

An open house reception to kick off the Spring 2008 semester will be held on Saturday, January 12, from 2-4 p.m. in the Commons area (Building A). This is a chance for current and prospective ALL@MC members to learn more about the organization, meet the instructors, and sign up for classes. There will be refreshments and entertainment as well.

“The academy continues to grow at a phenomenal pace,” said Linda Head, dean of academic and workforce support. “Since its inception in early 2000, the organization has blossomed along with the increase in active, older adults residing in the Montgomery County area. The need for ALL@MC has never been greater.”
