HOUSTON (July 15, 2009) – For college students who find math intimidating, Lone Star College-Kingwood has a quick and painless way to satisfy those core requirements. Students can complete two math classes, intermediate algebra and college algebra, in just one semester.
These fast-track classes will be offered during the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters. Intermediate Algebra is taken the first 8-weeks and College Algebra is taken the second 8-weeks.
Professor Mari Peddycoart, who will teach both classes says, “This is great for those students who are almost ready for College Algebra but must take Intermediate Algebra due to placement testing.”
As an added bonus, students use the same book for both classes, saving money. The classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. for both the first and second 8-weeks.
Students do not have to take both classes. Professor Peddycoart says, “You can take the intermediate Algebra class and decide not to take the College Algebra or you can take the College Algebra alone in the second 8-weeks as long as the student is at college algebra level.”
For questions about the fast-track algebra classes, contact Professor Peddycoart at 281-312-1723or email@example.com.
