HOUSTON (August 19, 2009) – Think you missed your chance to start college this fall? Think again. Although registration for the traditional 16-week fall semester at Lone Star College-Kingwood ended, Saturday, August 22, the college offers a variety of second-start classes with start dates beginning the week of September 7. Second-start classes range from eight to 14 weeks in length. Students can register up to the first day of class and complete their course by the first week in December – or earlier depending on the course’s length and start date. A wide variety of second-start classes are offered, including some distance learning formats. Courses are designed to fit a broad range of academic goals toward certificates, associate’s degrees or university transfer. Course offerings include: accounting, anthropology, biology, business, computers, criminal justice, cosmetology, developmental writing, developmental reading, English, government, history, fitness, management, math psychology, sociology, Spanish, speech, teaching, welding, and many more. To assure the best selection, students are encouraged to register as early as possible. Students must enroll before the first class meets.
