LSC-North Harris Announces Record Enrollments for Fall 2009

Lone Star College-North Harris enrollments for fall 2009 are at record highs. As of early Friday morning, Aug. 21, administrators verified that more than 12,300 students had registered to attend college for the upcoming semester. The numbers represent a 19 percent increase over last year’s comparison day and college officials estimate an additional 1,000 students will register before the semester begins Monday, Aug. 24.


While registration for Lone Star College-North Harris’ traditional 16-week semester ended on Aug. 22, the college also offers SecondStart classes with start dates beginning in mid September through late October. SecondStart-classes range from four, five, seven and eight weeks in length. Students may register up to the first day of class and complete their course by mid December or earlier depending on the course’s length and start date.  A wide variety and levels of SecondStart classes are offered. Courses are designed to fit a broad range of academic goals toward certificates, associate’s degrees or university transfer.


Students may attend SecondStart classes at LSC-North Harris or the college’s two full-service satellite centers, LSC-Greenspoint Center and LSC-Carver Center. For more information, call the college’s office of admissions 281.618.5410.
