Published on: May 23, 2007The Floral Design Certificate program at Lone Star College-Kingwood is comprised of three courses totaling 48 hours. The series of courses fully prepares students for entry level floral design positions. Students who complete 48 hours and pass both a written and a design examination receive a Lone Star College-Kingwood workforce program certificate.
Lone Star College-Kingwood's Continuing Education Department provides a great start to an exciting career in floral design. Material is presented in a cycle consisting of lecture, demonstration, practice and critique. Lecture and demonstration make up 25% of the program, with practice and critique making up 75%. A wide selection of fresh flowers and foliages are used in the program and each student works on their own projects with the guidance of an instructor. Class size is limited to assure that each student receives the individual attention that they need.
The following floral courses are being offered during the upcoming summer months: Fresh Flowers I, June 6-14; Fresh Flowers II, June 20-28; and Specialty Design, July 9, 11, 12, and 16.
