Kingwood College to Host Education Expo

Published on: July 11, 2007

Lone Star College-Kingwood will host its first Education Expo on Tuesday evening, Aug. 14. This information and registration fair will be a one-stop shop for information about financial aid and scholarships, registration, academic and career programs and much more.

The Education Expo, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Student Center/Fine Arts Building from 5-8 p.m. Drawings for great prizes, food, musical and theatre performances and more will all be a part this showcase event.

Individuals have a variety of goals when they consider continuing their education. For some, it is a graduate degree while others want to complete an undergraduate degree that was side tracked by employment or family obligations. Many are ready to start a college program for the first time and others are interested in specialized certificate programs.

This event gives prospective students an efficient and convenient way to learn about the programs that fit their needs and goals available at Lone Star College-Kingwood such as university transfer courses, one- and two-year career programs and student services.

Representatives from various career, academic, and continuing education programs will be available to answer questions and provide one-on-one assistance.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to take the Campbell Interest and Skill Survey (CISS). The CISS is a vocational interest test which reflects an individual's attraction for specific occupational areas and estimates of their ability to perform various occupational activities. Personalized analysis can be arranged with a Lone Star College-Kingwood career placement professional.

Invite your friends and family to this free event - there is something for everyone! For more information call 281-312-1558 or visit kingwood.lonestar.edu/EducationExpo.
